Ear Cuff: Ryan Storer

If you have read and seen my obsession of last years Ear Bling that was seen on the catwalks and models and as usual transcended on the likes of read carpets and music artist, you'll understand how happy I am to find the originals.

Haul: Greek Shopping VieStyles

As every trip I try to do some what I like to think as country inspired shopping. Buy things you can not get in the UK and things that can be used here. Bets are you like it when people say where did you get that? knowing that they would have to travel themselves to get it! and you will always have something that wont eventually make the bin or collect dust.

In Lindos you can find lots of jewellery, clothes and home wear. It is slightly cheaper in Rhodes, But the market here for these types of items seem of a better choice for home wear at least. When at markets always shop around, most hidden ones tend to be cheaper and if your lucky hidden streets with hidden shops have hidden treasures!

I collect hanging lanterns to create a light piece in the corner of my room... So here is what I got for €16.50. A good luck ceramic hand painted with Rhodes Greece 2013 discreetly inked at the bottom.

In Rhodes I bought jewellery. I already have an evil eye bracelet given to me, they have been fashionable for a few years now but also a tad superstitious. This came in different colours and you can tie it as a necklace or anklet.

Old town they say is more expensive then the new. But if your only buying things like magnets buy them back in the supermarkets. You can also find cheap bracelets there.

If your looking for something hand made then yes... you cant buy that at the supermarket.

These are hand made silver, gold plated.. and very Greek.. Square is meant to be good luck and circles are long life. Each one is different as they are hand made. Around €10 -€13 each

They also sell fur in Rhodes...

Finally just to show you what jewellery I wore on the beach....

Demobaza

Bulgarian designers Demo and Tono created Demoboza in 2008 selling their unique creations on its on line store, which later turned into limited editions. Soon after in 2010 saw the opening of its showroom/store in Sofia.
"The combination between Bulgarian post-socialist spirit and the extraordinary futuristic dreams, together with intentional unwariness to details, are the basis of Demobaza’s philosophy, which has generated the concept of deconstructive uniform."

"About the style:

Minimal and futuristic look expressed by deconstructive sporty shapes.
Uniform built of trashy and bad made looking elements.
"

www.demobaza.com

Maybe I have been watching too much manga anime. Ever wanted to have that futuristic desert look? I stumbled across them after a chat with a client and have used some of their images for look collages for a prospective styling gig.

As much as the looks are All Saints gone extreme, and the designers have styled looks with other brand collaborations such as G-Star and Diesel. I can see male pop stars dancing around in Demoboza jackets or pants, and si-fi moves dressed in stylish nomad.

Wish List: Get Your Geek On

This month there hasn't been many events form me to add to the facebook fan page apart from concerts that are to happen in the near future. May has been a month in movies. A few weeks ago was the premier of Iron Man, then Star Trek, that was on general release not so long ago, next was the premier and release of Fast and Furious 6, now The great Gatsby, and next week is The Man of Steal. I think I have been in the cinema almost every week! so to continue with my geekness as these movies are of true sci-fi/comic nature (I even caught myself talking to a man at a computer store about external hard drives and other computer jargon) I thought why not create my wish list as well as a geek-chic outfit.

Bringing the geek varsity to the street:
  • The obvious Geek t-shirt, but in the boys fit (for the "I'm wearing my bf's tee" sexy feel)
  • A pencil skirt (get it "pencil skirt" told you geek!)
  • Customised converse which I want!!!! well it is a wish list!
  • You can always add a varsity jacket for that school look and get your Gatsby look with the 20s hair, make up and heals.

  • The Nerd t-shirt from Amazon in forest green if you like
  • Chinos for that american boy look but street it up from g-star
  • For some reason I think guys are better in high tops, converse or supra?!

kEar Bling

SS2012 saw Chanel bring back ear cuffs, which I remember back when I was in high school 17-18 years ago, setting the trend in school and cementing my rock edge style. FW2013 sees it as a trend getting stronger with Roberto Cavali and Dries Van Noten.

It has grown and evolved from 18 years ago where it was just a simple cuff to what is now extended right round your ear with the possibilities of gems, pearls and feathers. Just how I love my knuckle rings (that I rocked out last summer) these bad boys will dress up and rock out any outfit, bringing you edge with femininity in a statement.

ASOS and top shop had a few but the ones I bought had to be more ear-bling.

Here's the haul..

FW2013 and the past few collections might be more obvious about necklaces, but I like my statements to be more under the radar, making a bigger impact. Can't wait to use these for a shoot!

Tone Sur Tone

Tone On Tone.... "does exactly as it says on the tin" Same colour, different shades, different textures.

With all the bright colours and crazy prints available in stores there were times where I just didn't know what colour to buy, the green? blue? pink? For my own wardrobe I am worried to spend money on prints or items that are seasonal, plus I am very much a blue and grey person and love the rock star look, yet I like to mix it up every now and then. When you're creative I guess you just don't sit still.

So what is tone sur tone? With the trends for summer showing colour blocking, some people might be to scared to venture or you might just like to wear a lot of black? Tone sur tone is wearing 1 colour but not to look like 1 wash of paint just got thrown at you. The trick is to wear it in different shades and textures.

Here I wore grey. Silk satin skirt against the cotton linen roll up tee. You don't always need to accessorise depending on the look your going for, or the outfit. But it does dress up and complete this look. Without it, the skirt and tee would be missing something.

Doing black is easy. But if you want to really make it look like you made an effort without trying. Again texture! Try black leather on black fur?! On top of a long black dress or black leggings. Instant rock no effort.. Shiny wet look leggings with cotton tee!
Here is my black leather with my cape fur on top

Mixing Decades

I have been a tad bored at home waiting for pay day and thought I would play with my face and look. I did this the other day and loved it, and been doing my hair and make up like this for the last few days.

Inspired from the 50s. It means my skin can get a rest from the foundation as the attention is on my eyes and lips. Its simple and fast to do, with lots of glamour. To tone it down for a day look, I took some inspiration from the 50s war propaganda pics.

A bandana...

Curled my hair in a relaxed wave and a rock in roll quiff. Ready to go.

Any outfit feels great with this look. I have rocked it with my long red skirt, but today was nice and hot. So with my army studded boy friend shirt, contrast vest, shorts and high tops.

This look and a red bandana is already striking that you have to be bold and confident. It brings out the the classic rock feel, accessorising with more bangles, my home made cord bradded bracelet and rose ring to go with my vest.

The Shirt and the high tops are featured in my prevues posts in my shopping hauls.

If you like my personal style and would like to just follow that (since I didn't really think to blog what I wear) you can also follow me on ASOS Fashion Finder. Click the link on the bug on the left <=

Thank you xxx

Zara Sale: Haul

With the day in Paris, work, friends birthday, pilates I've only just used today as the day to clean and blog. I still managed some shopping for me. Even though I was meant to go shopping for a shoot I have planed this month.

Anyway here is what I came home with...

The skirt is new collection but its going to be a quick seller and I had to have it before it goes! Red is a colour that will be in for AW12 so a defo transitional item.

I bought the shirt in small and not XS I wanted it to still feel like a jacket or a boyfriend fit shirt. I like how dress down but interesting it is and hits the festival look on trend.

I have been searching for boots like these for a while. In fact I had to search the whole oxford circus for my size. Im still worried that it might look too big for me. So I am still thinking about returning them. None the less I love them. Great for a long dress or shorts. Its great when the weather seems to be half rain half heat weave, that with s sort dress or slim maxi dress you can still look summer cool but not stupid when it rains! Don't you just hate it when you look too hot or too cold in your clothes?!

Enjoy sale shopping!!... note to self save money for June when sales happen!!

2NE1 - K Pop introduction

Korean Pop.. well I'm not Korean and there is also J Pop but what I wanted to blog about is their style. Its something I am still experimenting with and wanting to bring it with the western touch. I just wanted to share this video with you and the make up that I did, just so that you can get a flavour of it.

I love the fierce edge they have in their video's. It's actually the whole video and the styling that most K pop has all in all in their genre.

Wish List: Black

I been meaning to do a wish list for a while now. But I just hate looking for things that I cant have and I get very picky over things and wonder is it worth it. But these are either I cant afford, or is sold out and Im trying to get.

The AW12 season is full of black and dark vampire looks with the metals and shine. Some items you can wear in the summer and transcend it to winter collection.

Rock the boots with shorts over festival, with a maxi skirt and jeans over the winter. The skirt is lovely casual like this and can be worn for evening events. The fur shrug I cant wait to get and wear over my leather jacket over the AW.

Night Out: Tyga Performs @ DSTRK

After my day out to Canterbury I also had to get home, get ready and make it down to DSTRK. Tiered but still holding on I managed a shorts jump suit that I usually wear during the day and just dressed it up with the gold multi layer necklace and matched it up with gold sandals and bangles. Think Jlo on this one. You can dress up a day dress with bling and metals.

I have a members card for DSTRK that I have never used. This was the 1st time I was going. My members card lets me cue jump, member plus 1 guest gets in for free, access to VIP, 1 free drink at the VIP bar, and 10% discount on drinks.

The cue was long as they took a while to get people in. The door staff were nice and not as pretentious as the staff at China White on a Sat and Movida last Fri. Lets try the card... Went to the front of the cue showed them my card and hello, rope open and man shouts "member plus 1 guest". Get to the girl she says "£20" I reply with my friends guest list she say "oh sorry that wasn't for you, you can head straight through"

DSTRK has 2 areas a lounge area and the club. The Lounge had a wall of wine bottles and looks like some nice restaurant even. The club area joins by a curtain. They had dancers perform and the dance floor in the middle moves up and down for the performance. Tables and DJ around and the VIP section right next to it.

Tyga was late (nothing new) didn't perform on stage but did a bit from the VIP section that we were in. DuPree was in the house as well and I even bumped into one of my footballers (which made me feel like I was working a bit and didn't want him to see me party out, even though we are cool about it)

It was a good night, me and my friend partied like we don't care and it attracted some attention that other tables were asking us to join them. My inner Jlo even had me salsa on the dance floor.
