Look Sharp: Karen K

"Not On Our Watch Project is a non governmental, international relief and humanitarian aid organisation based in the United States" founded by George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Jerry Weintraub and David Pressman. Last Saturday a fundraiser was held in its name where I attended its after party.

Sushi, Models, Vodka and meeting some great people in aid of helping a good cause was worth it.

Someone who made a big impact on guests was Karen K.

Other than being a beautiful model Karen is also a passionate woman about her brand and its ethos. Karen K shoes is about comfort and having shoes that you can literally run in. Not just a gem for your mantel/shelf of "must have" shoes because it hurts too much to walk or stand in . As she talked to me about equilibrium, steel and memory foam, was enough to make this shoe lover drool, google and, check out her site. Name drop that Nicole Scherzinger was seen wearing them for a performance on X-Factor and tweeted after how she found them so comfortable and loved them. Angel wing tattooed, brand, logo, Karen only launched her brand in 2010 and 3 years later is making waves for a promising future.

Check out her bespoke shoes...

I still giggle how her website calls them Keels and Koots. Its just cute.

April calander & Terry de Havilland

As the weather is now fianlly getting out of winter, be it slowly, our April calander is also starting to hot up. With Dior at harrods now over, you still have time to catch ...

*David Bowie at the V&A, wich I am still due to see myself.

*Bianco at Camden Roundhouse, for some circ du soile.

*The Sundance Film & Music festival is at the  O2 for 4 days of independant film and music shows as well as forums. I am gutted to be missing the bands on film forum held on saturday.

* New Orlean food, Jambalaya at Jam Tree.. get some serious southern fried chicken!

* Terry de Havilland pop up temp shop.

I was reading his bio on the webisite, www.tdhcouture.com, I normally hate reading these things but his was a gripping read. Raised in a family that made shoes he learnt his trade from his father, and thier own family business.

With the up and downs of economy he is now finally ready to open his own store once again 35yrs later. The London flagship store will open this year and with a mens line on the way too. No doubt Terry de Havilland is destand to be a brand to die for. With big name clients already under his belt since the 70s and making couture shoes with client in mind, you could really own an original or a limited eddition. Fashion I find is forever revolving taking insperation from past designs and even vintage is never really vintage as it probably never really went out of fashion.

Check out his pop up store sat 20th.

If you're intersted on more events each month as they happen. I have posted them up on alter ego - vie styles fan page on face book. Keeps you up dated on events and as soon as a new blog post is up. Just hit "like"

Mens Shoes: JT mirrors, Kicks & Haul

I have been neglecting my love for shoes and one thing I am good at is shopping and styling mens.

Before I forget I must mention these. Justin Timberlake was wearing the lace up version in his video mirrors, that was just released early this month. Now these shoes are like bling... and if your looking to buy them, good luck, as they are Christian Louboutin fall winter 2012. Non the less Loubi has a tendency to repeat a shoe but in a different material or colour so fingers crossed for you.

So mens shoes.... specifically trainers.

Here is my lattes find

In keeping with the Christian Louboutin style. Here is my high street version for you girls. Zara's ballerinas, I had to have them.

Zara Sale: Haul

With the day in Paris, work, friends birthday, pilates I've only just used today as the day to clean and blog. I still managed some shopping for me. Even though I was meant to go shopping for a shoot I have planed this month.

Anyway here is what I came home with...

The skirt is new collection but its going to be a quick seller and I had to have it before it goes! Red is a colour that will be in for AW12 so a defo transitional item.

I bought the shirt in small and not XS I wanted it to still feel like a jacket or a boyfriend fit shirt. I like how dress down but interesting it is and hits the festival look on trend.

I have been searching for boots like these for a while. In fact I had to search the whole oxford circus for my size. Im still worried that it might look too big for me. So I am still thinking about returning them. None the less I love them. Great for a long dress or shorts. Its great when the weather seems to be half rain half heat weave, that with s sort dress or slim maxi dress you can still look summer cool but not stupid when it rains! Don't you just hate it when you look too hot or too cold in your clothes?!

Enjoy sale shopping!!... note to self save money for June when sales happen!!

Just to say hello...

I thought I'd try and catch up with those of you who are reading this. See what you think.. some comments? what you would like more etc etc...

I have a bit of a cold and heyfeaver so not feeling too well so I decided to go colour my hair brown for the summer and ditch the red that I have been loving for winter. At the moment I have done 1 wash and will pop to the shops in a bit to do another. Its still very red brown.

This month I have lined up a 1 day trip to Paris and the Christian Louboutin exhibition. So I hope you'll enjoy those things to do, see and wear. I also have a style shoot Im planing. Which I really cant wait! just working on a backdrop.

So for now let me wet your taste buds with the link to the Louboutin exhibition. If you wish to go there before I go and review it. There is a summer party there that I might attend at the end of the month.

On my wish list for about a year now :( last year I was beaten on the wait list!

If there is anything anyone else would like me to cover. I can see many of you have been reading on what to wear for a summer wedding. Please drop me a line and lets see what we come up with! Why not even be a follower.

Oooh la laa xx

Outfits: When The Shoe Fits

Its another wet day here in London, and all I been trying to think about is

a. what do I want for my wish list apart from a holiday?
b. there is no point in a summer outfit / shopping
c. why I am stuck at home...

So I went on line and tried to find some kind of inspiration since I cant go out and model and take pictures. All due to the rain and, kind of hard to take pictures of yourself on your own.

There are a few outfits in my mind. Personally I'm a bit rock edge, which I think you will see in my style. Today I tried to embrace the prints and the bright colours. Why be all down and black when colours can make us smile.

I have been wearing leggings a lot lately which can go with different shoes. So why not Rock out in heals at a bar? look dry and chic in festival wellies, or keep it real for a concert or weekend in trainers.

You can also follow my outfits on ASOS Fashion Finder.

Kanye West in Bottega Veneta

Had a client ask me about some boots they saw Kanye wearing. Wondered why I didn't know this and tahhh dahhh. Here it is..

Sporting boots and deconstructed jacket from AW2011. "When Your Own Initials Are Enough" who would have known Kanye was wearing BV. It's about the person wearing the clothes and using it to your own interpretation is the motto and my motto for fashion in general.

Bottega Veneta Mens SS2012

Its that time of year where most fashion houses are or have shown their collection for 2012-2013 and are already forecasting for AW.

I have already seen these last year and just the other day, totally forgot half of it or the fact that I have seen it. So I thought to put up a refresher and show you what BV will be having in stores now for your summer wardrobe.

I mean why look at next winter, when summer is on it way, and the clothes are about to be, if not already in stores.

Most fashion houses have the same style just their own take on things.

You'll see a lot of suiting for men, and to make it casual they have the trousers rolled up.

If your bored of the suite maybe go for a different material approach, or the print. Not Hawaiian style shirt printed suites but maybe something like this.

I've picked out a few jackets, and the Cardigan (no not the crazy outfit under, but the cardi on top).

These shoes are great for dressed up casual. There is also a denim pair, that other designers are doing too.

Last summer chino's were making a come back and this year the safari meets urban geek seems to still be strong.

You might see my friends / clients in my hot picks for this collection ;)

Desert Boots

I wanted to share these cause when I 1st saw them I just thought nope the look will be trampy man not so cool and nothing trendy (seen on guys generally not looking cool and possibly smelly). Alas it had to regretfully be this picture of David Beckham that changed my mind on the status of these shoes....

The look suggests comfort, style, not dressed up yet not so casual. It has made me re think the boots and say when in doubt for what to wear for that casual day out, but don't want to miss out on looking good in case you bump into someone... these might just work. Those days where shoes is just an effort and trainers is just not enough.

See who said sex sells? Beckham sold me on these boots better then Armani Underwear! lol

Kicks!

These have been in store for a while now and as soon as I saw them I thought Finally something different, cool and, Hell Yeah....

I know some of you must really not like them... Its defo a pair for the not so faint hearted, but trust me if you like your air force one styles this is a cool high top to have.

I spent most of last year prowling the shops for the latest Supra's for my clients and my trip to New York was buying Air Force 1's for friends. I know my kicks quiet well and these for sure you cant find nothing like them.

Think baggy jeans or drain pipes what ever your fancy, rolled up chinos or peeping through some Jack Wills joggers.

Like I said been in store for months now and I have dressed a well known friend in them, and I still cant keep my eyes off them. Defo a pair to get you noticed.

Like I say shoes start, compete and change an outfit; and trust me girls always notice your shoes!
